We started in 2009 as a little bakery away from town, supplying freshly baked products to happy customers around hayatabad. People loved our products so much, we couldn’t help but evolve into a fully functional bakery where we could serve equally remarkable products. This, of course, led to delightful sweets, cakes and fresh pizzas.

Before we knew it, we were a neighborhood favorite in city all over—a place to find a warm welcome. Where people can gather with friends or hide out on their own. A place where fresh, innovative food is served up with unsurpassed quality and consistency by passionate employees. A place still dedicated to keeping our neighbors, friends and guests happy, in their special little corner of the city.

Sugar Plum has gone through quite an evolution since our inception in November 2009. The bakery was founded by Mr. Muhamad Riaz, the elder son of Mr. Zer Ullah Khan who came back from Switzerland after completing its degree in Hotel Management. the vision of Mr. Muhammad  Riaz was to provide quality and delicious products to the community, there he started his first bakery on the corner of city in Ring Road Peshawar.

We quickly found an audience that wanted to buy whole loaves over the counter, and a few who wanted sandwiches made on the bread. We listened to our guests and slowly built a menu from there – homemade sandwiches, soups, panini, desserts, and more! By 2011 we had expanded to one new location at Peshawar Cantt.

The idea for Sugar Plum Bakery existed long before we opened our doors. The seed was planted while Mr Muhammad Riaz was studying hotel management in Switzerland and continued to take root throughout his education and travel to different countries.

In the search for a name for this new bakery, I wanted something not connected to any country or culture, yet reflecting my philosophy.

Much has been written about the mystique of bread and how a simple and elementary food has such magnetism— the soul and passion of the baker transcends into the loaf that is shared with the community. Based on the model of the traditional old-world village bakery; the bread has unique characteristics because of the use of available regional ingredients.

The philosophy of the bakery is to enhance both the natural products and the flavor of the various grains. The baked goods are created from apples, potatoes, cranberries and hazelnuts, as well as wheat, rye, barley and buckwheat flour.

The bakers at Sugar Plum love bread and that shows in the quality. This is bread that celebrates the tradition of breaking bread with family and friends.

Now we're baking! We go beyond the traditional cake with a large selection of our upscale tortes and desserts. We love to experiment and we love to bake customized desserts for our clients. You never know, we may even name the creation after you. Most require a 1-day notice. 

How do we come up with new desserts? We play...  then we eat (and call it testing.) Tough job!

Delicious cakes and desserts are the result of a fantastic team.  We share the same goal -- to serve our customers only the best and the highest quality baked products made with only the best ingredients. Our attention to customers and quality shows in the amount of comments we receive. Because of our strong mission to offer only the highest quality goodies, rarely do customers have complaints. Instead they tell us, “Oh my goodness! I had your cake last week and it was awesome.” We really do encourage customers to tell us what was wrong since this is how we learn and adjust, but we don't get very many unsatisfied clients.
